Computer programs which play go. Although computer go is an exciting subject in computer science, playing against computer programs is usually not the best way to improve your strength.

GNU Go
A free, open-source, go-playing program, almost(?) as strong as the top commercial programs.
Go++
One of the strongest go programs out there. Commercial. Windows.
SmartGo
Written by Anders Kierulf. Commercial (there is a free demo version). Windows.
The Many Faces of Go
Written by David Fotland. "Many Faces" was one of the first go programs. Commercial (but see the free 9x9 version, Igowin). Windows.
